I do not know about you, but the combination of the speeding up of climate change along with the continued assaults on democracy by the former president and his allies has had the affect of making me feel why bother about making art, why bother when the world is about to collapse on itself taking everything with it. It is hard to find a way to justify making things, even beautiful things when all things seem for naught. But I am an artist, making paintings and drawings and other forms of art is what my purpose is, and so I persist. The only positive side of this that I can see is that with this mindset as the background, it allows me to take more risks, because why not, what do I have to lose?
